WEDDINGS | Edgy rock and roll bride inspiration

Updated: Oct 24, 2019

Back in February, Killer Queen were part of a rock n roll bridal editorial shoot with photographer Em Jensen Creative and model Vanessa Umugabekazi.

Em and I styled this ourselves from our own collections of dresses, boots, hats and rock n roll accessories.

And yes...that red sequinned dress was actually MY OWN wedding dress! It was so good taking this baby out for a spin again!

Yep, I got married in red sequins, because- why the hell not? I knew I wouldn't be wearing white, it's just not me....and red sequins just spoke to my soul.

Vanessa looked a vision in the deep red mermaid style gown which we teemed with snakeskin and a velvet fedora with a black mesh veil underneath.

We also had her try on a cute little fitted mini dress with gold and silver tassles (so flapper-ish!) which she rocked with a simple black neck choker, big AF hoops and shiny silver ankle boots.

Hitting up some venues in Fitzroy and Collingwood before sunset, Vanessa posed in red heart-shaped glasses and a fitted black lace shift and vintage gold lame cape; before switching it up in a long, flowing off-white halter neck number paired with a black pleather vest and some neo-futuristic 80s glasses. This rock and roll bride just oozed confidence and cool.

We kept Vanessa's makeup glowy and gorgeous with a light velvety base, lots of highlight to bring out her amazing cheekbones, and gold shimmer to the eyelids.

And nothing says rock n roll bride more than a bold flick of black eyeliner to really turn things up and put the focus on those peepers.

We added a deep berry stain to the lip with a slick of gloss to keep things looking fresh and fun and to complement the berry hues of the dress.

Absolutely stunning! Check out the gallery below for some serious rock n roll bridal vibes.
