Australia's leading ethical beauty brand Kester Black make vegan, cruelty free & carbon neutral lippies and nail polishes that are kind on you & the planet.
Kester Black products aren't your usual beauty products.
For starters they're all cruelty-free, carbon-neutral and vegan, and they 100% walk the talk when it comes to sustainability. From their ingredients, to their packaging, to the way they run their biz – they take responsibility.
Founded in 2014 by Melbourne designer Anna Ross, Kester Black blends ethics and beauty in a way that redefines the industry standard. Anna’s dream was to create Australian made, professional quality, environmentally produced and cruelty free products that are inspired by beautiful design.
Lip and nail colours to knock your socks off!
Their new range of matte liquid lipsticksa is taking the beauty world by storm! They're non-sticky, super-pigmented, non-bleed and super-lasting – basically everything you thought couldn’t co-exist in a lipcolour.
How did they do it? With a little magic, but mostly with ultra-nourishing oils. Like organic olus oil, which is chockers with fatty acids that regenerate new skin cells, camelina oil for intense hydration, and olive oil, prickly pear and passionfruit oil, for anti-aging, skin-regenerating thrills.
They're rather epic and they're definitely creating some beauty buzz- they're THAT good!
Their high shine, chip-resistant nail polish is proudly made in Australia, and is 10-Free™, meaning it's free from the 10 nastiest chemicals found in standard polishes, including toluene, DBP (also known as phthalates), formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin or camphor. They use a water permeable formulation (with the exception of the glitter polishes) - a major improvement on any existing breathable nail polish products already on the market. This allows water penetration on a molecular level and allows nails to behave naturally and grow without the restrictions of non-breathable bases. Using water permeable nail polish can help to improve the health of your nails and the quality of your manicure. All Kester Black nail polish comes with Choose Cruelty Free (CCF), Cruelty Free International and Vegan Society certifications.
Kester Black do everything they can to ensure theirmanufacturing practices are sustainable, from using recyclable materials and manufacturing in small batches to minimise wastage, to only using renewable energy and having a paperless office.
They design with the end-life of their products in mind and use as much recyclable packaging as possible.
All of their packaging is made right here in Australia to minimise their carbon footprint, and they even make the labels on their nail polish remover bottles from HDPE (the most recyclable plastic on the planet) so the entire bottle can be recycled and reused.
They often collaborate with local charities, and run campaigns to fundraise on their behalf.
