Gaal is Melbourne's newest eco-friendly fashion label, with their brand-spankin' new website launching just days ago.
Killer Queen were incredibly excited and grateful to be part of their launch campaign, creating a low-key, natural and fresh beauty look for their very first collection.
Gaal create gorgeous, sustainable and ethical pieces inspired by the 70s. They're Australian made and the team behind them are so absolutely lovely and inspiring!
Founded by husband and wife duo Brianna Gaal and her partner Mathew, Gaal's vision is to raise the bar on transparency in the fashion industry and promote a regenerative model of producing clothing.
Every garment they make has its entire lifecycle considered right from the start. The materials that go into their clothing- fabric, thread, buttons, interlining and even shoulder pads, are made from low-impact, natural materials that are completely compostable. So cool- and so important in these times of fast fashion to be creating things that have a minimal footprint and don't contribute to the landfill catastrophe.
I loved the ethos behind Gaal- not only designing beautifully made, high quality ethical pieces, but bold essentials for those who live loudly and consciously, never compromising your style or ethics.
Since Killer Queen exist for bold babes and fierce femmes who lead by example, working with them was match made in heaven!
The wonderful + talented Em Jensen Creative was the photographer on this amazing shoot, starting with the collection shots at the gorgeous Cat Scratch Studio in Brunswick and then moving on to the editorial-style shots out at Casa Warrandyte most amazing mid-century home EVER!
Em captured the most beautiful shots and I'm sure you'll agree the warmth and tones of the gorgeous home and its surrounds really brings out the beautiful hues in the clothing.
The beautiful talent, Zali and Aileen from Duval brought the clothing to life! They were both such a dream to work with and creating a beautiful, fresh natural look was such a delight on their stunning faces.
I'm so proud and honoured to have worked with Gaal on their very first collection. They're a breath of fresh air in an industry that desperately needs to change its production values. I'll be watching with keen eyes to see what the future brings!
