BOSS BABE | Womxn In Iso: Kate Forsyth of Good Day Club AU

Recently I approached some passionate creatives I am lucky enough to know, and asked them if they wanted to take part in a self portrait project called W O M X N IN ISO.

The idea was inspired by the 'Nashville Queers in Quarantine’ portrait series by photographer Em Dash.

I've been feeling passionately about how this situation is impacting us all; particularly the womxn I know who are juggling businesses, creative pursuits, kids, homeschooling and other priorities. With a simple brief, I asked if they'd like to reflect where they are right now, giving them a chance to share their emotions and their experiences .

I feel it's so important to share stories and maintain the sense of connection in our creative community.

Even though life is weird AF right now, we are still growing, transforming & planning to change the world- however different it will be on the flip side.

First up in the series is Kate Forsyth, owner of Good Day Club; Melbourne’s go-to for unique, super awesome vintage + retro furniture hire, and event design and styling. They’re for the people who’re rad, who want to do things their way, and want to create an event or wedding truly like no other.

With the radical restrictions on the entire events and wedding industry as a whole, we've seen fellow vendors virtually coming to a standstill right now. I wanted to check in with Kate and see how she was handling a rapidly-changing situation, what her experience of lockdown was like, and how others could help right now.

Create rad events for rad people with our glorious vintage + retro furniture collection, event design + styling and graphic design. We're big on personalisation, making meaning and breaking the mould.

You cannot just 'power through' something as significant as this. Stopping to process, rest and resource myself has been challenging but it's working. Also, no one is really a self-starter. Everyone needs to log onto their LinkedIn and delete 'self-starter' from their skills and abilities area.

Send me Potato Gems. Granted, I accept Gems at any and all times, but Pandemic Potato Gems are extra welcome right now.

Unrelated to frozen potato products, if you're planning a wedding or event for 2021 or beyond, get in touch and book in with your favourite vendors. The cash flow is of course needed, but getting back to doing what we love and are great at is a pretty big gift you can give us. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
